Introduced in 1894 - listed in the catalog of Samuel Wilson of Mechanicsville, Pennsylvania. Extremely productive. Easy to digest and well-suited for pickling, slicing, and fresh eating. The size, shape and color of a lemon, but a cuke with sweet flavor and low in cucurbitacin, the naturally occurring cucumber chemical that accounts for a slightly bitter taste.
