Restio: Evergreen. Native to S. Africa. Bog tolerant. Perennial upright spreader forms clumps of thick, reed-like stems w/ a papery sheath at each node & long, needle-like branches. Can be grown in a container or used as a screen or water feature. Best in moist, well-draining sandy soil. Yellow to golden-brown flower spikelets appear in spring, then winged nut-like fruits. Ht: 8-10'. Sun/part shade. Water: moist. USDA Z9.
