Herbaceous Perennial: Bog tolerant. Deer resistant. Created by Gerald Darby, this variety is a hybrid of I. versicolor & I. virginica. Lvs are flushed w/ dk purple in spring that fade by summer. Attractive purplish-black stems. Good pond, water garden, edging, border or container plant. Nice cut flower. Blm color: violet-blue w/ yellow signals. Blm time: sp-su. Ht: 24-36". Width: 18-24". Exp: sun/part shade. Water: moist. USDA Z4-9.
