Heirloom-Introduced from Armenia to Italy in the 1400’s, this attractive, crisp cuke stays sweet even when the fruit is large. This variety has thin skins w/dense flesh, few seeds, and a pleasant mild flavor. It is easily digestible–skin & all. It is heavily ribbed w/light green skin. Produces very long, 12-30” fruit, best eaten when 12-18” long & less than 2 œ” across. Plant in full sun. Thrives in hot weather. (Maturity: 70 days).

Heirloom-Delicate flavor & crunchy bite. Round 3-4” fruits turn from pale greenish ylw to lemon ylw (the best eating stage) & then bt. gldn ylw. Tender & sweet & excellent for salads & pickling & easy to digest. It is easy to grow & does well in short summers. Performs well in cool conditions. This remains the most widely planted open pollinated slicing cuke in the U.S. Since 1970 the slender, refined “Marketmore look” has been the standard for slicing cucumbers in the North. The 8-9” dk green fruits stay green & mild tasting even under heat stress. It is an excellent slicer in salads & for other fresh uses. This variety has a unique appearance and excellent flavor. The unusual, slightly fuzzy, S-shaped fruits are slightly ridged with alternating dark and light green stripes. A fabulous slicer with uniform, plump, smooth, burpless cucumbers! Wonderful fresh and their thin skin makes them a good pickler as well. Excellent flavor and yield - sweeter than others. Deer & downy mildew resistant. Fruit size: 6-10 inches. Plant height: 36-48 in. Prefers full sun. This is said to be the best non-hybrid pickling cucumber! It produces massive yields of mild-flavored - which are perfect for soaking up spices - small cucumbers that are excellent for pickling.
